Heart in the Lotus

                You have entered a place where West meets East,

                     where Matter connects  with Spirit,

                  where your Heart becomes the Bridge.

 

The Heart, in the West, is the seat of Love and compassion.  It is the place where our Inner Healer resides, where our internal compass rotates, our place of True wisdom.

 

In the East, the Lotus flower represents the awakening of consciousness.  When one gazes upon a Lotus in full bloom, it is an exquisitely beautiful flower. However, its life did not start out this way.  The Lotus begins its life rooted in mud and muck, in the dirtiest of waters. Surrounded by insects, fish, other sub-surface plants and debris, it experiences overall rough conditions. Yet, in spite of these conditions, the Lotus grows. From a stem with merely a few leaves and a small flower pod, it grows and grows, gaining strength as it rises.  It pushes aside each of the obstacles it encounters beneath the surface of the water, making its way toward the light.  The pod slowly breaks the surface of the water.  Ironically, that same dirty water into which the Lotus was rooted now washes it clean as it begins to surface. Now, the clean air and the warmth of the sun bathe the leaves, encouraging them to open.  One by one, the petals slowly unfold, and the Lotus is birthed into its fullness.

 

Our human journey can be compared to that of the Lotus.  Each of us comes to Earth and experience the dirt and mud, the obstacles of life.  If we intend to grow in wisdom, we are called to consciously move through the obstacles that present themselves.  One by one, the deeper aspects of ourselves are given the opportunity to surface, as we make our way toward the light. Will we say "Yes" to the opportunities that encourage us to grow in our ability to love, to embody and extend more compassion?  Each of us has a choice to awaken into our Heart, that place inside where love connects with wisdom.

 

My passion is assisting you in discovering that place within your Heart  where Love, Wisdom, and an awakened Consciousness meet, the place of True Self, Home. This Journey involves a willingness to take a deeper look into any aspects that block your access to an authentic connection to your deeper Wisdom. Change is also part of the Journey. You may discover some behaviors, beliefs, practices, activities, and patterns that no longer serve you.  As we begin to look at any of these, Compassion is an ally for you and me. Judgment and self-criticism have no place at the Table. Healing and Liberation become the invited guests.
